Ramaki

Michael made this in high school...he loved it so much he continued to make it for his family and friends.

1 lb. sliced bacon
2 8 oz. cans whole water chestnuts, drained
1/4 cup sugar
12 oz. ketchup
1/2 cup packed brown sugar

Cut the bacon slices crosswise in thirds. Roll the water chestnuts in sugar to coat. Wrap a bacon strip around each water chestnut and secure with a toothpick. Arrange in a shallow baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Pour off some of the drippings. Mix the ketchup and brown sugar in a small bowl. Pour the ketchup mixture evenly over the wrapped water chestnuts and bake for 15 minutes longer. Yield: 10-20 servings.
